(2014) Winners of the 10th anniversary HangSúly™ Hungarian Metal Awards
This is a jubilee for HangSúly™ Hungarian Metal Awards, the 10th anniversary voting. Editorial staff of 13 online rock magazines awarded bands Moby Dick, Apey & The Pea, Mytra and Ørdøg and their albums from releases and performances of the year 2014.
Album of the Year
Tied winners of the title Album of the Year are "Földi pokol" (in English: "Hell on Earth"), the tenth full-length of Hungarian thrash legend MOBY DICK, and one of the strongest bands of the Hungarian stoner/sludge metal scene APEY & THE PEA's latest album "Hellish". Apey & The Pea did hat trick when their first full-length was awarded Debut Album of the Year in 2013 and now their second one has been Album of the Year. Moby Dick albums won two awards in category Best Studio Production before, and this is the first time when Jury of HangSúly™ honours their song writing power.
Debut Album of the Year
This category is tied as well. Many years has gone for MYTRA formed in Kazincbarcika in 1996 to make their first full-length "Beta", a sci-fi inspired progressive metal album featuring female vocal. And the result speaks for itself.
The other winner is "Tíz fekete dal" (in English: "Ten Black Songs"), a modern metal album featuring poetic Hungarian lyrics by ØRDØG, a band with ex-Superbutt members in their lineup. This is a beginning of a new age for them.
Best Live Band
Opinions of the Jury were divided in awarding for Best Live Band. By minimum difference eventually APEY & THE PEA has got on to the title.
Best Studio Production

Recording "Beta" is made by the band themselves.

HangSúly™ award for Best Album Cover Art won by DEVECZ ÁDÁM who created a modern apocalyptic image for award winning MOBY DICK album.
